Buyer Stamp Duty is a statutory tax paid for documents signed when an individual purchases or acquires a property in Singapore. All buyers who purchase Midwood units are expected to adhere to this regulation, as stated by the Inland Revenue Authority Of Singapore (IRAS). The Buyer Stamp Duty will be calculated based on the purchase stated in the document to be stamped or the market value of the property, whichever is higher.

Should a Midwood unit purchased is the second property of the buyer, they would be liable to pay the tax known as the Additional Buyer Stamp Duty. The rates above have been revised as of 6 July 2018.
However, if the said Midwood unit purchased would be the matrimonial home of the buyers, and when the buyers sell their current place of residence within 6 months of collecting the keys of the Midwood unit, they would be eligible for remission of the ABSD.
